Every October, Panama City Beach transforms into a pirate- and renaissance-era playground. This year's version, October 10–12, 2025, promises a weekend full of fun, costumes, and entertainment.
Here's what you should know (and some pro tips to make the most of it):
What to Expect
-
The festival is free and held at Aaron Bessant Park, with many events spilling into Pier Park.
-
Events kick off around 4 PM on Friday, opening at Aaron Bessant Park, followed by the Krewe of Dominique Youx Kids' Parade on Pier Park Drive, Mermaid Meet & Greets, Fire Circus performances, parades, a Treasure Drop, and fireworks.
-
On Saturday, expect the Royal Court Welcome, live mermaid exhibits, sword/joust demonstrations (Knights at the Beach), live music, family entertainment acts, and more.
-
The fun continues Sunday afternoon with more pirate encampments, chess matches, performances, and a closing ceremony/fireworks.
-
There's even a Fishing Rodeo and Pirate Flotilla at Capt. Anderson's Marina on Sunday.
Pro Tips for a Smooth Pirate Weekend
-
Arrive early for parking, especially on Saturday — it gets busy!
-
Dress up! Pirate hats, swords (toy ones), corsets, goblets and all — families love the full-on fest atmosphere.
-
Map out your favorite events ahead of time. There are overlapping activities (parades, shows, etc.), so pick your must-sees and plan your route between Aaron Bessant Park and Pier Park.
-
Don't miss the Mermaid Meet & Greet and the Treasure Drop — they're always a hit with the kiddos.
-
Save some energy for the Sunday fishing rodeo or pirate flotilla if you're staying through the end.
-
Combine this trip with a stay at By the Sea Resorts and unwind with a beach bonfire or sunset cruise after a day of swashbuckling fun.
